The 2016 Interservice / Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) was an extremely exciting time for R-Squared Solutions’ CEO, Bill “Roto” Reuter. Known as the world’s largest modeling, simulation and training event, and held near the beginning of December every year in Orlando, Florida, I/ITSEC consists of peer-reviewed paper presentations, tutorials, special events, professional workshops, a commercial exhibit hall, a serious games competition, and STEM events for teachers and secondary students.

Hundreds of students from through Central Florida came with their schools to attend the 2016 I/ITSEC.
Kicking off the event each year is the opening ceremonies, and this year Roto was invited to sing the national anthem! What a great opportunity to share his great love and devotion to the Stars and Stripes, and help celebrate the opening of I/ITSEC 2016 and the celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Roto began his stemCONNECT tour at the ARL-Orlando booth, taking a look at SIMETRI’s lower leg fasciotomy training PTT.
One of Roto’s focuses through I/ITSEC is helping high school students see first-hand, real-world training, simulation and education solutions that will help bridge the gap between classroom theory and the applied used of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects. Not only did he lead tours of students who attended I/ITSEC, but he also presented a Florida High Tech Corridor Council #stemCONNECT virtual tour of I/ITSEC, and gave students in 20 schools their own opportunity to virtually participate in the event.
Next year’s I/ITSEC is Nov. 27 – Dec. 1. Find more information at www.iitsec.org.
